The National Society of Black Engineers and GE are partnering together for a night of Career Opportunity and Professional Development. Come and gain valuable insight from GE employees, and also learn more about job opportunities at GE. Join us on Friday, November 4th, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at the GE Digital Thread Hub (1 Village Center Drive, Van Buren Township, MI). RSVP IS MANDATORY FOR THIS EVENT. September 2016 General Body Meeting

Join us for our first General Body Meeting of the 2016-2017 year! The meeting will take place on Friday, September 16 at the Engineering Society of Detroit (20700 Civic Center Drive Suite 450, Southfield, MI 48076) from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. Our special guest speaker will be De Juan Simmons, Esq.from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. March 2016 General Body Meeting

Join us on Friday, March 11th at 5:30 pm for our next General Body Meeting. We will have a presentation from one of our very own members, William Bowen, titled “Thinking Outside of the Box From an IT Perspective.” Refreshments will be served.

You are invited to our next General Body Meeting on Friday, January 15th, 2016 at 5:30 pm. We will be meeting at Lawrence Tech University in the Management Building (refer to the attached map lawrence tech map). Come out and join us as we commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday and legacy. Refreshments will also be served.
We will have a special presentation from Dr. Sibrina Collins of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African-American History, titled “Do We Learn Enough About African American Scientists?” For a preview of what will be discussed, read the article below published by Dr. Collins:

May 2015 General Body Meeting

NSBE Detroit Professionals,

We will be having our last General Body Meeting for the 2014-2015 program year on Friday May 1st at 5:30pm. Please note that we will be having our meeting at Lawrence Technological University’s campus in the A. Alfred Taubman Building (room C406).

Our meeting will consist of:

-A presentation on Entrepreneurship by our chapter member, Tarolyn Buckles (CEO of Onyx Enterprises, Inc.)

-Elections for the 2015-2016 Executive Board

-Collecting Donations for Boutique Upgrade U – (Clothing, Apparel, Accessories)

Light refreshments will be served!

NSBE DAE September 2013 General Body Meeting

Our first General Body Meeting for the 2013-2014 year will take place on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Engineering Society of Detroit in Southfield, MI.  We will have an Estate and Financial Planning Seminar conducted by two guest speakers, Constance Bell (CEO, Life Instructions, LLC) and Shanari Williams (Financial Planner with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management).  The event will begin at 5:30pm with networking, and the seminar will begin at 6:00pm.  Dinner will be served during the evening.  Please come out and support our general body meeting and our dynamic guest presenters.
